Franchise expands into Russia |

Churche's Chicken franchises declare war in Russia: Church’s Chicken announced on today the launch of its Chicken fast food franchise in Russia. The company’s franchisee plans to open up to 30 restaurant franchises in Russia within the next three years, which will be enough to compete with its arch rival KFC fast food franchise.
Church’s Chicken franchise has plans to open 70 franchises in Russia over the next seven years and another 30 franchises in Belarus and the Ukraine. Starting investments in the project would be around $20 million.
The Church’s Chicken franchise was set up in 1952 and operates 1,500 in the States and a further 16 franchises internationally.
Profits year on year exceed $1 billion. The Russian fast-food market grows approximately 25 percent annually and is worth $1.5 billion year on year and growing. Moscow itself accounts for $600 million.
